Over the last few weeks we have enjoyed meeting and getting to know each other! Some things we are excited about doing together are playing instruments, learning through games, singing and learning by creating our own radio station!
To get us started we brainstormed what our classes should look like and turned our thoughts into our Radio Willway Contract:

To start us off in the creation of our radio station we also each created a music biography.
The grade 4s and 5s are excited to begin taking turns as the 'DJ of the Day' beginning this week! Each student will take a turn to select and introduce a piece of music to be shared with the class. Just a reminder music request slips need to be submitted the class before your air time! If you have lost your sheet you can print one off under the "Learning at Home" tab! We are also working on creating and organizing playlists for our first radio show! A few suggestions we have for organizing our music so far include, by genre, by artist, and by mood.
The grade 2s and 3s are investigating rhythm. We learned a 'cup song', a silly song that involves, singing, clapping, flipping and passing cups all while keeping the rhythm! They did very well! Ask your child to teach you the song! You can easily do this at home with a plastic cup!

We definitely enjoy showing what we know by playing music games together!
