This week we were very lucky to Skype with a real astronomer! He told us all about his job as an astronomer and let us ask him all kinds of questions! We really enjoyed having an expert answer our questions. This week we all completed our jr astronomer applications. We finished our tests and wrote journal articles to show all that we have learned. I was very impressed! Junior astronomer badges will be awarded on Friday.
In language arts we are continuing to explore non-fiction. We are currently becoming an expert on our chosen planet. Our job will be to convince our classmates that they should come and visit our planet. To help us we learned how to read tables and diagrams. We are learning that non-fiction doesn't just mean books! We have started talking about advertisements and brainstormed what we know. This will be helpful for our project!

In math we are exploring the attributes of solids (cubes, pyramids and prisms) and how to sort polygons. Ask your child to tell you how many edges, faces and vertices objects around your house have! Check our the parents tab for some extra practice games!
In P.E. we wrapped up our creative dance unit by performing our invention dance and recording it on the iPad so we could see what our hard work looked like! Next week we will be beginning our unit on lacrosse!
See you all on Monday!
